Confusion vs Broca Aphasia: A Case Report.
We present a case of Broca aphasia that was initially interpreted as confusion. CASE PRESENTATION: A 76-year-old woman was brought to the Emergency Department because of confusion and slurred speech that began in the morning. The patient had an extensive history of alcohol abuse, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension and had recently quit drinking 5 days earlier. The patient appeared confused, answering questions with "I don't know," but had no signs of agitation. Artery of Percheron infarction: a case report
ConclusionsArtery of Percheron infarcts are rare. The radiological diagnosis can initially often be judged as normal and in combination with variability in the neurological symptoms it is a rather difficult condition to diagnose. For these reasons few clinicians have much experience with this type of infarct, which may delay diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatment.
