Cervical carotid occlusion in acute ischemic stroke: Should we give tPA?
CONCLUSION: Emergent revascularization with acute cICA stenting carries advantages, but its safety is precluded by tPA administration. We suggest a trial which randomizes patients with cICA occlusions to receiving either tPA or dual antiplatelet therapy before surgical intervention, aiming to ultimately improved outcomes in these patients.PMID:35509556 | PMC:PMC9063023 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_176_2022

O-019 Increasing inner diameter leads to faster thrombectomy with aspiration in acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionThis multicenter, consecutive real-world experience demonstrates that M1 thrombectomy with a larger distal ID catheter is associated with faster time to recanalization and higher rate of TICI 2C or better recanalization on first pass, but also with a higher rate of hemorrhage on follow up imaging.Disclosures J. P-007 Safety and efficacy of endovascular thrombectomy for distal vessel occlusion (DLV): single center experience
ConclusionThis single center, consecutive real-world experience demonstrates that thrombectomy in DVO stroke patients is safe and leads to high rate of successful recanalization. Further studies are warranted to evaluate the efficacy of thrombectomy in DVO in comparison to best medical management.Disclosures S. Majidi: None. S. Matsoukas: None. R. De Leacy: None. T. P-009 An angled tip is associated with improved technical outcomes when using 0.064-0.074 aspiration catheters: analysis from a multicenter retrospective cohort
ConclusionThis multicenter, consecutive real-world experience demonstrates that M1 thrombectomy with an angled tip aspiration catheter is associated with higher rates of TICI 2C or better reperfusion, equal rates of TICI 2B or better reperfusion, and faster time to successful reperfusion.Disclosures J. The importance of atrial fibrillation and selected echocardiographic parameters for the effectiveness and safety of thrombolytic therapy in patients with stroke
ConclusionsThe presence of atrial fibrillation worsens the patient's prognosis in terms of the functional status and survival during the acute period of stroke in patients treated with intravenous thrombolysis.Higher NIHSS and CHA2DS2VASc scores and reduced EF in patients with stroke treated with thrombolysis are the predictors of unfavorable short-term prognosis.

Endovascular mechanical thrombectomy for cerebral venous sinus thrombosis: a systematic review
Conclusions EMT is an effective salvage therapy for refractory CVST, with a reasonable safety profile. Chemical thrombolysis, in conjunction with EMT, did not appear to result in additional harm or benefit. Further analysis is warranted to determine predictors of success after EMT for CVST.
