Magnetic resonance imaging quantitative T2* mapping to predict the red blood cell content of in vivo thrombi retrieved from patients with large vessel occlusions in acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: Our study shows that a shorter thrombus-T2* relaxation time is related to a higher red blood cell content within in vivo thrombi.PMID:34559000 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211042473

Correlation of Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio with Expression of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Within Stroke Emboli
CONCLUSIONS: NLR is correlated with the amounts of WBCs, fibrin, NETs and vWF within the thrombi retrieved from AIS patients due to LVO.PMID:34878323 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211065530

Direct carotid artery puncture for acute ischemic stroke: Local experience and systematic review
CONCLUSION: We describe the detailed procedure of the rare case of an emergency DCAP performed at our institution. DCAP provides an alternative treatment method in cases where thrombus removal access cannot be established through traditional methods.PMID:36113459 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221125094

Location of the Clot and Outcome of Perfusion Defects in Acute Anterior Circulation Stroke Treated with Intravenous Thrombolysis BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Admission CBV defects are larger in proximal vessel occlusions. More of the penumbra can be salvaged if the occlusion is located distally. This effect seems to reach a plateau in the distal M1 segment of the MCA.

Experimental Evaluation of Immediate Recanalization Effect and Recanalization Efficacy of a New Thrombus Retriever for Acute Stroke Treatment In Vivo INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: In this experimental study, the pREset thrombus retriever showed a high recanalization rate in vivo. High-resolution FPCT allows detailed illustration of the thrombus-device interaction during embedding time and is advocated as an add-on tool to the animal model used in this study.

Stroke and Stroke Mimics: A Pattern-Based Approach
“Stroke” is a general term that describes a clinical event characterized by a sudden onset of an acute neurologic deficit. Arterial ischemia comprises 80% of all strokes and is a leading cause of death and disability in the United States. Since the advent of thrombolytic therapy for ischemic stroke, rapid and accurate diagnosis has become essential.
