Clinical Course of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a frequent complication in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). A significant proportion of patients develop cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT).

Paradoxical Brain Emboli Related to Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia after Catheter Ablation
Thromboembolism associated with catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation has been considered to be derived from catheters, ablation sites, or a left atrial appendage. Paradoxical brain embolism due to iatrogenic shunt after catheter ablation has yet to be described.

Literature Review and Case Report of Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Cerebral Infarction Attributed to Cervical Arterial Dissection
Acute cerebral infarction (ACI) caused by cervical arterial dissection (CAD) is a rare clinical disease. Therapeutic approaches include anticoagulant therapy, antiplatelet aggregation, and thrombolytic therapy. Currently, anticoagulant therapy or antiplatelet aggregation is the primary choice, whereas the thrombolytic therapy is still controversial. In this article, we report a patient with ACI caused by right CAD, which led to a compensatory increase in blood supply to the right middle cerebral artery through the anterior communicating artery.

Is Acute Carotid Artery Stent Thrombosis an Avoidable Complication?
The most serious complication of carotid artery stenting (CAS) is acute carotid artery stent thrombosis (ACAST). ACAST is a very rare complication, but it may lead to dramatic and catastrophic consequences. The most important cause is inadequate or ineffective antiaggregant therapy. It is very important to identify, before CAS, those patients who might be candidates for ACAST and to start antiplatelet therapy for them. Testing patients who are candidates for CAS for acetylsalicylic acid and clopidogrel resistance may prevent this complication.

Efficacy and Safety of Edoxaban in Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
This study compared the efficacy and safety of edoxaban and warfarin in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, and the effects of different edoxaban dosages. Methods: A systematic search for randomized controlled trials comparing edoxaban with warfarin in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation was conducted using PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library databases.

Distance to Thrombus in Acute Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion Predicts Target Mismatch and Ischemic Penumbra
In patients with occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) treated by intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), the distance to thrombus (DT) has been proposed as a predictor of outcome. The purpose of the present study was to investigate how DT relates to dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion metrics.

Report of Dramatic Improvement after a Lumboperitoneal Shunt Procedure in a Case of Anticoagulation Therapy-Resistant Cerebral Venous Thrombosis
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), which typically progresses from either acute or subacute onset, presents with symptoms related to intracranial hypertension (e.g., headache and papilledema) and brain parenchymal lesions (e.g., aphasia and hemiplegia). Anticoagulation therapy is generally accepted as a treatment for CVT and often leads to good clinical outcomes. However, we experienced a case of CVT with an uncommon clinical course. The patient was a 63-year-old man who presented with headache, papilledema, visual loss, and diplopia; his condition gradually deteriorated, and he was diagnosed with CVT via cerebral angiography.

Bihemispheric Paradoxical Cerebral Embolism in a Patient with Pulmonary Thromboembolism and Presumptive Fistula Right-to-Left Shunt
We report a case of a bihemispheric paradoxical cerebral embolism in a patient with pulmonary thromboembolism and presumptive pulmonary arteriovenous fistula. The echocardiogram showed no intracardiac shunt, and the transcranial Doppler (TCD) revealed spontaneous microembolic signals in the middle cerebral arteries (MCAs), and late passage of a higher number of microembolic signals in the MCAs, compatible with right-to-left shunt (RLS). The TCD and the echocardiogram were useful for identifying the RLS when rapid neurological deterioration occurred.

Bilateral Vein of Trolard Thrombosis
We report 2 cases of bilateral vein of Trolard thrombosis; one with and the other without dural sinus involvement. To our knowledge, there have been no cases of bilateral vein of Trolard thrombosis reported in literature. The clinical presentation of cerebral venous thrombosis is variable; patients can present with isolated intracranial hypertension, focal neurological abnormalities, seizures, or encephalopathy.

Nephrotic Syndrome May Be One of the Important Etiologies of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis
Thrombosis is a common complication of nephrotic syndrome (NS). However, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) secondary to NS is rarely reported. Here we report a case series study of 5 cases of CVST with NS, so as to make a better understanding and management of this disorder.

Multiple Deep White Matter Hyperintense Lesions on Diffusion-Weighted Imaging: Early Sign of Straight Sinus Thrombosis
We report the case of a 67-year-old patient who had multiple deep white matter (DWM) hyperintense signals on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) immediately after the onset of SST. This DWM hyperintense signal on DWI was the only abnormality at the acute stage, the underlying cause of which was congestive cerebral ischemia.
