Early Predictors of Fever in Patients with Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Fever is commonly observed in patients who have had aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and it has been associated with the occurrence of delayed cerebral ischemia and worse outcomes in previous studies. Frequently, fever is not the result of bacterial infections, and distinction between infection-related fever and fever secondary to brain injury (also referred as central fever) can be challenging.

Progressive Bilateral Vertebral Artery Dissection in a Case of Osteogenesis Imperfecta
A 32-year-old woman with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) was admitted to the hospital because of a right-sided occipital headache and facial paresthesia. She was diagnosed with lateral medullary syndrome due to right vertebral artery (VA) dissection. She was treated conservatively without antithrombotic therapy. She developed subarachnoid hemorrhage because of contralateral VA dissection 18 days later. This clinical course may reflect the underlying weakness of the vessel wall in OI. In patients with OI, occlusion of a unilateral VA could cause dissection and subsequent rupture of the contralateral VA.

Spinal Vascular Malformations in Children
We have read with interest the article published by Hayward et  al describing a spinal dural arteriovenous fistula (SDAVF) in a 3-year-old child.1 This observation appeared particularly interesting, considering not only the patient's age (there is to our knowledge no SDAVF reported in children so far) but also the extremely unusual mode of presentation of the disease (i.e., subarachnoid hemorrhage).

Bilateral Fusiform Aneurysms of the Internal Carotid Arteries Presenting with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Fusiform aneurysms of cerebral arteries are less prevalent than saccular aneurysms and are rarely associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). In this article, we report SAH due to a rare case of bilateral fusiform aneurysm of the supraclinoid segment of the internal carotid arteries (ICAs) (C4 segment of the ICA).

A Case of Ruptured Vertebrobasilar Junction Aneurysm Associated with Subclavian Steal Phenomenon
A 77-year-old woman with arteriovenous shunt for hemodialysis in the left forearm suffered from subarachnoid hemorrhage due to the rupture of a saccular aneurysm located on the left lateral wall of vertebrobasilar junction. Her left subclavian artery was severely stenosed and subclavian steal phenomenon was demonstrated on the digital subtraction angiography. Embolization of the parent artery including the aneurysm using detachable coils resulted in the successful obliteration of the aneurysm through the revascularized left subclavian artery.

Temporal and Spatial Changes in Cerebral Blood Flow during Management for Preventing Delayed Cerebral Ischemia after Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: Serial Semiquantitative Analysis
Delayed cerebral ischemia is a major cause of morbidity after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The management for preventing the delayed cerebral ischemia is clinically difficult because of its multifactorial nature. We tested the hypothesis that spatial and temporal changes of regional cerebral blood flow after subarachnoid hemorrhage might relate to the incidence of the delayed cerebral ischemia and the clinical outcome.

In Response to Spinal Vascular Malformations in Children
We appreciate Dr. Pearl and Dr. Gailloud's interest in our case report of a then 3-year-old child who presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage in the setting of a spinal arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Digital subtraction angiography of the left T11 segmental artery revealed a spinal dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) with the fistulous connection located at the level of T11 at the neural foramen. There appeared to be a single feeding artery with venous egress. There was a large associated venous varix.

We report the outcome of a midterm follow-up of 20 consecutive patients with nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage of unknown origin, and 2 patients in whom the development of new dural arteriovenous fistulas after subarachnoid hemorrhage of unknown origin were detected during follow-up.

Syringomyelia due to Lumbar Spinal Fluid Drainage in the Acute Phase of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Case Report
Lumbar spinal fluid drainage is a common procedure for treating hydrocephalus and alleviating vasospasm by egesting blood in the subarachnoid cavity after subarachnoid hemorrhage. Despite being an effective and safe procedure, cerebrospinal fluid overdrainage might result in serious complications. Here we report the case of a 49-year-old man who suffered from tonsillar herniation with subsequent cervicothoracic syringomyelia in the acute phase of subarachnoid hemorrhage due to vertebral artery dissection.
