Subarachnoid hemorrhage guidance in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic -An opinion to mitigate exposure and conserve personal protective equipment
Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) patients require frequent neurological examinations, neuroradiographic diagnostic testing and lengthy intensive care unit stay. Previously established SAH treatment protocols are impractical to impossible to adhere to in the current COVID-19 crisis due to the need for infection containment and shortage of critical care resources, including personal protective equipment (PPE). Centers need to adopt modified protocols to optimize SAH care and outcomes during this crisis.

Severe cognitive impairment in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: Predictors and relationship to functional outcome
Cognitive impairment is common after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). However, compared to predictors of functional outcome, meaningful predictors of cognitive impairment are lacking.

Sex-Specific Associations of Smoking with Spontaneous Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: Findings from Observational Studies
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) has long been considered a devastating disease because of its high mortality and disability rates.1,2 Despite the tremendous recent advances of medical and surgical treatments, SAH has remained a terrible disease. Hence, identification of modifiable risk factors for SAH is important to influence the incidence of SAH. In addition, some studies have reported that women are at higher risk for SAH compared with men;3,4 however, the specific reasons and the underlying risk factors for this sex difference remain unknown.

Safety and Clinical Outcome of Good-Grade Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in Non-Intensive Care Units
In this study, we report the outcomes of good-grade SAH (Hunt and Hess grades I& II) patients admitted in ICU and non-ICU settings at a center in the Philippines and determine if site of care is predictive of outcome.

CT-Negative Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in the First Six Hours
There are no reported cases of negative CT head in the first six hours after a thunderclap headache in a patient found to have an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).

Relative Alpha Variability Changes Precede Alpha-Delta Ratio Changes in Cerebral Ischemia
We present a case of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage complicated by vasospasm as detected by the cerebral angiogram. The patient was being monitored on electroencephalogram. It showed early signs of cerebral ischemia represented by decline in the Alpha-Delta-Ratio (ADR) and the Relative-Alpha-Variability (RAV). Surprisingly, the RAV changes preceded the ADR changes. This is a significant finding that can also apply to early reocclusion or reperfusion injuries after mechanical thrombectomy.

Aging Changes of Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A 35-year, Hospital-Based Study
The etiology and background factors which cause decreases in the size of ruptured intracranial aneurysms remain unclear.

Neurocognitive Outcomes in a Cisternal Blood Injection Murine Model of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) results in neurocognitive dysfunction and anxiety in humans and in animal models. Neurobehavioral tests such as the Morris Water Maze (MWM) and Elevated Plus Maze (EPM) tests are validated in several models of SAH but have not been tested in the murine cisternal blood injection SAH model.

Spontaneous Subarachnoid Haemorrhage as a Cause of Out-of-Hospital Death
Spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) is a neurological emergency with high mortality and morbidity. The overall incidence rate has declined over the last centuries, but is still 6.3 per 100.000 persons per year in Europe.1 Older studies found that 12% of patients with SAH died before they reached medical attention.2,3 Prehospital systems have undergone major changes in recent years, but we have been unable to identify any recent European studies that could elucidate if these numbers remain stable.

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Caused by Ruptured Aneurysm of the Artery of Adamkiewicz: a Case Report
A 66-year-old man presented with a 6-day history of progressive posterior cervical pain that included lower back pain and fever. Neurological examinations revealed neck stiffness. Computed tomography demonstrated convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage. A spinal T2-weighted image revealed a hypointense signal lesion with contrast enhancement of the intradural extramedullary space at Th12 –L1. Digital subtraction angiography showed a fusiform aneurysm with a 10 mm diameter in the artery of Adamkiewicz. We diagnosed the patient's condition as a ruptured aneurysm of the artery of Adamkiewicz.

Mean Platelet Volume/Platelet Count Ratio is Associated with Poor Clinical Outcome After Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is both a hypercoagulable and inflammation state in which many biomarkers have been studied. Activated platelets have been identified to be of clinical importance in thrombosis and neuroinflammation after aSAH. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between mean platelet volume (MPV) to platelet count (PC) ratio, a surrogate parameter for activated platelets, and the functional outcome in aSAH patients.

Acute Cerebrovascular Disorders and Vasculopathies associated with Significant Mortality in SARS-CoV-2 patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in The New York Epicenter
We present a case series of consecutive COVID-19 patients with cerebrovascular disease treated at our institution including 3 cases of cerebral artery dissection including subarachnoid hemorrhage. Knowledge of the varied presentations including dissections will help treating clinicians at the bedside monitor and manage these complications preemptively.

Hydrocephalous as a Complication of Perimesencephalic Nonaneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
JLSM, male, 71 years old, admitted into a private hospital in the city of Joinville, Brazil, complaining of persistent and severe headache. The patient reported onset of the condition three days before, after sexual activity, associated with nausea, vomiting and dizziness. He has a medical history of epilepsy, under regular use of Phenobarbital. The physical examination evidenced slight nuchal rigidity. Cranial computed tomography (CT) showed subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in cisterns around the brainstem (Fig.
