Day-by-Day Blood Pressure Variability Is Associated With Neurological Functional Outcome After Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: Increased day-by-day blood pressure variability of systolic or diastolic BP in the acute ischemic stroke was associated with higher risk for unfavorable outcome at 3 months independent of blood pressure levels. Combining SD of systolic BP with conventional risk factors could improve the prediction of unfavorable outcome.

Prevalence and Risk Factors for Spasticity After Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: The incidence of PSS was significantly higher in stroke patients with paresis. Patients with moderate to severe paresis and sensory disorder should be closely followed up. The role of hemorrhagic stroke in predicting PSS remains to be further explored.

Acute Stroke Biomarkers: Are We There Yet?
Conclusion: To date, despite the evolution of the techniques used in their evaluation, no individual candidate or multimarker panel has proven to have adequate performance for use in an acute clinical setting where decisions about an individual patient are being made. Timing of biomarker measurement, particularly early when decision making is most important, requires urgent and systematic study.

Association Between Ultrasound Parameters and History of Ischemic or Hemorrhagic Stroke in Patients With Moyamoya Disease
Conclusions: Ultrasound parameters of EICA and PCA are independently associated with history of previous ipsilateral ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke in patients with MMD. The present ultrasound-based nomogram might provide information to identify MMD patients with high risk of stroke. Glycated Hemoglobin as a Marker for Predicting Outcomes of Patients With Stroke (Ischemic and Hemorrhagic): A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: The findings indicate that glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) could serve as a useful marker to predict the outcomes in patients with stroke and aid in the implementation of adequate preventive management strategies at the earliest.

Efficacy and Safety of Adherence to dl-3-n-Butylphthalide Treatment in Patients With Non-disabling Minor Stroke and TIA —Analysis From a Nationwide, Multicenter Registry
Conclusion: In non-disabling minor ischemic stroke or TIA patients, compliance with NBP therapy led to better 90-day functional outcomes despite a higher risk of recurrence, and this effect seems to be stronger in patients with NIHSS scores of 3–5. Further large randomized, double-blind controlled studies to analyse the association between NBP and functional outcome is warranted in the coming future.

Predictive Factors for the Need of Tracheostomy in Patients With Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke Being Treated With Mechanical Thrombectomy
Conclusions: Patients with LVOS undergoing MT are at high risk to require TS if extubation after the intervention fails, DH is needed, and severe infectious complications occur in the acute phase after ischemic stroke. J147 Reduces tPA-Induced Brain Hemorrhage in Acute Experimental Stroke in Rats
ConclusionOur results demonstrate that J147 treatment alone exerts cerebral cytoprotective effects in a suture model of acute ischemic stroke, while in an embolic stroke model co-administration of J147 with tPA reduces delayed tPA-induced intracerebral hemorrhage and confers cerebroprotection. These findings suggest that J147-tPA combination therapy could be a promising approach to improving the treatment of ischemic stroke.

Prospective collection of blood plasma samples to identify potential biomarkers for the prehospital stroke diagnosis (ProGrEss-Bio): study protocol for a multicenter prospective observational study
This study will evaluate whether a single blood biomarker or a combination of biomarkers can distinguish patients with AIS and ICH from patients with stroke and SM in the early phase after symptom onset in the prehospital setting. In addition, the kinetics of blood biomarkers in AIS and ICH patients will be investigated. Our goal is to evaluate new ways to reliably diagnose stroke in the prehospital setting and thus accelerate the application of evidence-based therapies to stroke patients.
