Endovascular Treatment for Acute Ischemic Stroke in China: a study protocol for a prospective, national, multi-center, registry study

Case report: Fatal ischemic stroke induced by unruptured traumatic intracranial vertebral artery dissection
Intracranial vertebral artery dissection (IVAD) is rare and potentially fatal due to the risk of secondary subarachnoid hemorrhage once ruptured. Unruptured traumatic IVAD is even rarer and can result in ischemic stroke, yet mostly benign when timely diagnosed. Herein, we present an uncommon case of a patient who underwent a fatal ischemic stroke induced by unruptured traumatic IVAD. Predictive Factors of Hemorrhage After Thrombolysis in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusion: Knowledge on the risk factors associated with HT after rt-PA treatment may help develop treatment strategies and reduce the risk of HT. Caveolin-1 and caveolin-2 can be predictors of HT after rt-PA administration. These findings provide evidence for future further investigations aimed to validate these biomarkers.

Blood –Brain Barrier Disruption and Hemorrhagic Transformation in Acute Ischemic Stroke: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Our results confirm that BBB disruption is associated with HT in both CT and MR studies. Compared with MR, CT has been more uniformly applied in the literature and has resulted in more consistent results. However, more efforts are needed for harmonization of protocols and methodology for implementation of BBB disruption as a neuroradiological marker in clinical practice.

Blind Exchange With Mini-Pinning Technique Using the Tron Stent Retriever for Middle Cerebral Artery M2 Occlusion Thrombectomy in Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: The Tron stent retriever was safely and effectively used in the BEMP technique for acute MCA M2 occlusion and can be combined with a 0.0165-inch microcatheter, which may be useful for treating MeVO, in general.

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in Mechanical Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke: Analysis of the STRATIS Registry, Systematic Review, and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Iatrogenic SAH related to mechanical thrombectomy is more common with treatment of distally-situated occlusions and multiple device passes. While low in overall prevalence, its effect is not benign with fewer patients reaching post-procedural functional independence, particularly if symptomatic.

Can Tirofiban Improve the Outcome of Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Propensity Score Matching Analysis
Conclusion: We demonstrated that tirofiban may be associated with improving favorable outcome for the AIS patients who underwent MT, without increasing ICH or sICH. Furthermore, our results indicated that for PCS patients tirofiban may not be associated with favorable outcome, and more comprehensive randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm this finding.
