AbstractStandard imaging in acute stroke enables the exclusion of non-stroke structural CNS lesions and cerebral haemorrhage from clinical and pre-clinical ischaemic stroke trials. In this review, the potential benefit of imaging (e.g., angiography and penumbral imaging) as a translational tool for trial recruitment and the use of imaging endpoints are discussed for both clinical and pre-clinical stroke research. Double Cisterna Magna Blood Injection Model of Experimental Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in Dogs
We describe the experimental procedures of a canine double-hemorrhage model of SAH and discuss the pathophysiological parameters and occurrence of angiographic delayed cerebral vasospasm using magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and digital subtraction angiography. Autologous blood was injected twice on days 1 and 3 into the cerebellomedullary cistern of 36 female beagles. Occlusion of Animal Model Arteriovenous Malformations Using Vascular Targeting
This study assessed the efficacy of a pro-thrombotic VTA targeting phosphatidylserine (PS) in a radiation-primed AVM animal model. The model AVM was surgically created in rats by anastomosis of the left external jugular vein to the adjacent common carotid artery.
