Use of anticoagulant therapy and cerebral microbleeds: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionAnticoagulant use is associated with higher prevalence and incidence of CMBs. This association appears to depend on location of CMBs and type of anticoagulants. More longitudinal investigations with adjustment for confounders are required to establish the causality.

Expanding the clinical and neuroimaging features of post-varicella arteriopathy of childhood
ConclusionsPost-varicella AIS can occur months after rash making diagnosis challenging. Because recurrent vasculopathy was seen predominantly in cases not treated with antiviral therapy during initial presentation, it is important to rapidly diagnose post-varicella AIS through clinical criteria and/or virological testing then treat with antivirals to prevent recurrence.

Idarucizumab administration in emergency situations: the Munich Registry of Reversal of Pradaxa ® in clinical routine (MR REPAIR)
ConclusionIn our study, we have shown that the administration of Idarucizumab is a rare intervention and restricted to patients with severe bleeding complications or ischemic stroke. The clinical outcome of patients who received Idarucizumab in emergency situations was poor.

ConclusionsSS predominantly affects young women with a relatively large number of cardiovascular risk factors. Clinical features of SS are comparable across different studies. We found no differences in the main clinical features between APL-positive and APL-negative patients.

Neurological manifestations of patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2: a systematic review of the literature
ConclusionThis updated review of literature, shows that headache, skeletal muscle injury, psychiatric disorders, impaired consciousness, and gustatory/olfactory dysfunction were the most common neurological symptoms of COVID-19 patients. Impaired consciousness and acute cerebrovascular events were significantly higher among patients with a severe infection. AIS patients required ICU admission in 63% of cases, while intra-hospital mortality rate was close to 23%.

Clinical and neuroimaging risk factors associated with the development of intracerebral hemorrhage while taking direct oral anticoagulants
ConclusionsRisk factors including diabetes, prior stroke, and smoking history as well as MRI biomarkers including CMBs and cSS are associated with ICH in DOAC users. Although screening MRIs are not typically performed prior to initiating DOAC therapy, these data suggest that patients of high-hemorrhagic risk may be identified.

Spontaneous cervical artery dissection is accompanied by a hypercoagulable state and simultaneous inflammatory condition
ConclusionWe found evidence for a hypercoagulable state in patients with sCAD as indicated by a shortened aPTT, which was associated with a trend to an increased leucocyte count at the same time. Our findings first strengthen the hypothesis that inflammation critically impacts on the occurrence of sCAD, and second linked this condition with a marked affection of the coagulation system.
