Predictors of Acute Neurological Worsening after Endovascular Thrombectomy
Conclusion: Our single-center retrospective cohort result is limited by small sample size. It showed that high admission BG is an independent predictor of NW after EVT and ultimately leads to poor outcome.Intervent Neurol 2019;8:172 –179

Body Mass Index and Clinical Outcomes in Large Vessel Occlusion Acute Ischemic Stroke after Endovascular Therapy
Conclusion: In patients treated with mechanical thrombectomy, BMI is not associated with outcomes. However, patients who are overweight or obese have more comorbidities and a higher stroke risk and, thus, should strive for a normal weight.Intervent Neurol 2019;8:144 –151

Endovascular Therapy and Ethnic Disparities in Stroke Outcomes
Conclusions: Despite unique baseline characteristics, African-Americans treated with ET for large vessel occlusion strokes have similar outcomes as Caucasians. Greater availability of ET may diminish the ethnic/racial disparities in stroke outcomes.Intervent Neurol 2018;7:389 –398

Internal Carotid Artery S-Shaped Curve as a Marker of Fibromuscular Dysplasia in Dissection-Related Acute Ischemic Stroke
Background and Purpose: Craniocervical fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) is associated with dissections and with S-shaped curves in the internal carotid artery (ICA). We evaluated the occurrence of S-curves in patients presenting with acute strokes due to ICA steno-occlusive dissections. Methods: This was a retrospective review of the interventional databases of two academic tertiary-care institutions. The presence of ICA S-shaped curves, C-shaped curves, 360-degree loops, as well as classic FMD and atherosclerotic changes at the ICA bulb and curve/loop was determined. Cases of carotid dissections were compared with a control ...

Demographic and Technical Risk Factors of 30-Day Stroke, Myocardial Infarction, and/or Death in Standard- and High-Risk Patients Who Underwent Carotid Angioplasty and Stenting
Conclusion: There was a higher risk of short-term major complications in diabetic patients and for left carotid artery intervention.Intervent Neurol 2014;3:165-173
