Identification of a miRNA –mRNA regulatory network for post-stroke depression: a machine-learning approach
ConclusionThe study highlighted gene signatures for PSD with three genes (SPATA2, ZNF208, and YTHDC1) and four upstream miRNAs (miR-6883-5p, miR-6873-3p, miR-4776-3p, and miR-6738-3p). These biomarkers could further our understanding of the pathogenesis of PSD.

Application of vagus nerve stimulation on the rehabilitation of upper limb dysfunction after stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionVNS is an effective and safe treatment for upper extremity motor dysfunction after a stroke. For the functional restoration of the upper extremities, noninvasive integrated therapy and lower-frequency VNS may be more effective. Predictive model, miRNA-TF network, related subgroup identification and drug prediction of ischemic stroke complicated with mental disorders based on genes related to gut microbiome
ConclusionThrough comprehensive analysis, a diagnostic prediction model with good effect was obtained. Both the training group (AUC 0.82, CI 0.93–0.71) and the verification group (AUC 0.81, CI 0.90–0.72) had a good phenotype in the qRT-PCR test. And in verification group 2 we validated between the two groups with and without carotid-related ischemic cerebrovascular events (AUC 0.87, CI 1–0.64). MiRNA (hsa-mir-129-2-3p, has-mir-335-5p, and has-mir-16-5p) and TFs (CREB1, FOXL1), which may be related to IS, were obtained.

Effects of low-frequency rTMS combined with antidepressants on depression in patients with post-stroke depression: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThe results of this meta-analysis evidenced the efficacy and safety of low-rTMS combined with antidepressants in the treatment of depression in PSD patients. Association between hysterectomy status and stroke risk and cause-specific and all-cause mortality: evidence from the 2005 –2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey
ConclusionOur study found a significant association between hysterectomy and stroke, even after adjusting for other factors that could impact risk, such as the American Heart Association (AHA)'s Life's Simple 7 cardiovascular health score and variables of age, ethnicity, marital status, income, education, and depression severity.

ConclusionOur bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on COVID-19 and stroke and highlights key areas of focus in the field. Optimizing the treatment of COVID-19-infected stroke patients and elucidating the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of COVID-19 and stroke co-morbidity are key areas of future research that will be beneficial in improving the prognosis of stroke patients during the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic.

Effect of acupuncture combined with antidepressants on post-stroke depression: A network meta-analysis of nine acupuncture therapy
ConclusionA comparison of the efficacy indicators of the nine different acupuncture therapies combined showed that moxibustion plus antidepressants, conventional acupuncture plus antidepressants and acupressure plus antidepressants were superior in the treatment of PSD. Nomogram including indirect bilirubin for the prediction of post-stroke depression at 3 months after mild acute ischemic stroke onset
ConclusionThe prevalence of PSD seems equally high even if the ischemic stroke is mild, which calls for great concern from clinicians. In addition, our study found that a higher level of indirect bilirubin can lower the risk of PSD. This finding may provide a potential new approach to PSD treatment. Furthermore, the nomogram including bilirubin is convenient and practical to predict PSD after MAIS onset.

Transcranial direct current stimulation for the treatment of post-stroke depression: A systematic review
ConclusionThis article simply aims at providing a comprehensive overview of the raw data reported in this field to date. Based on the current evidence, tDCS presents promising results for the treatment of PSD. Moreover, tDCS is also effective in PSD patients with aphasia or CPSP. However, an optimal stimulation protocol is needed to formulate.
