Association between physical activity levels and depressive symptoms in patients with minor ischemic stroke
Post-stroke depression (PSD) in stroke patients is a serious sequela. The incidence of depression in stroke patients is approximately 22% –35%.1,2 PSD is associated with serious outcomes, leading to increased risk of mortality and reduced quality of life.3 In addition, a previous study investigating the association between depression and stroke recurrence in ischemic stroke (IS) patients reported that post-IS depression is an indepe ndent risk factor for stroke recurrence.4 Thus, prevention of PSD is important, as this could lead to further adverse functional outcomes after stroke.

Stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and a major cause of disability, due to impairments in functioning, limitations in activities, and restrictions in societal participation.20 Although these consequences vary widely between stroke survivors, the most common consequences are physical impairments, communication disorders, cognitive and emotional problems, and mood disturbances.13,50 Every year 15 million people suffer from stroke,30 in the Netherlands, 40.000 patients have a stroke each year28 Most stroke patients survive the initial illness and the greatest health effect is usually caused by the long-term consequences.

Factors influencing employment after minor stroke and NSTEMI
Aim: To study the effect of cognitive function, fatigue and emotional symptoms on employment after a minor ischemic stroke compared to non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).Material and methods: We included 217 patients with minor ischemic stroke and 133 NSTEMI patients employed at baseline aged 18 –70 years. Minor stroke was defined as modified Rankin scale (mRS) 0–2 at day seven or at discharge if before. Included NSTEMI patients had the same functional mRS. We applied a selection of cognitive tests and the patients completed questionnaires measuring symptoms of anxiety, depression and f atigue at follow up.

Effectiveness of Paroxetine for Poststroke Depression: A Meta-Analysis
Objective: The purpose of our study is to evaluate the efficacy of paroxetine in poststroke depression (PSD) patients by conducting a meta-analysis. Methods: We searched Web of Science (science and social science citation index), PubMed, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase up to August 2019. Randomized controlled trials that paroxetine compared to other antidepressants or control treatments as monotherapy for patients with PSD. Results: This review identified a total of 4 studies including 212 patients.

Risk Factors of Intracerebral Hemorrhage: A Case-Control Study
Background: Hypertension is a well-known risk factor for intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). On many of the other potential risk factors, such as smoking, diabetes, and alcohol intake, results are conflicting. We assessed risk factors of ICH, taking also into account prior depression and fatigue. Methods: This is a population-based case-control study of 250 primary ICH patients, conducted in Helsinki University Hospital, Finland. The controls (n  = 750) were participants of the FINRISK study, a large Finnish population survey on risk factors of chronic noncommunicable diseases, matched with cases by sex and age.

A Retrospective Study to Identify Novel Factors Associated with Post-stroke Anxiety
Post-stroke anxiety (PSA) and depression (PSD) constitute critical complications of stroke.1 Evidence suggests that an estimated 18% to 25% of stroke patients develop significant and persistent PSA, which is associated with co-morbid psychological stress (eg, depression) and debilitating consequences (eg, diminished quality of life).1-3 PSD, female sex, and cognitive impairment are factors commonly reported to be significantly associated with PSA.4 While there is a growing body of literature about familiar factors associated with PSA, most studies were conducted in relatively racially and ethnically homogenous populations.
