Abstract The majority of sudden onset serious diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and pulmonary embolism, are thrombotic diseases. Antithrombotic therapy in general has a potential to reduce the risk of thrombotic diseases, though it increases the risk of serious bleeding events.
