Early and long ‐term clinical outcomes after minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass grafting versus off‐pump coronary surgery via sternotomy in isolated proximal left anterior descending artery disease: A propensity score matching analysis
ConclusionsShort ‐term as well as long‐term outcomes of MIDCAB in terms of mortality, MI, stroke, and target vessel revascularization are satisfactory and as safe and effective as OPCAB via sternotomy.

Systematic review and meta ‐analysis of staged vs simultaneous coronary artery bypass grafting surgery and carotid endarterectomy
Conclusion: The results from this study favors staged CEA with CABG with lower incidence of postoperative stroke, operative, and 30 ‐day mortality. A larger study, ideally a randomized controlled trial, is required to address the superiority of each technique.

Concomitant severe carotid and coronary artery diseases: a separate management or concomitant approach
Conclusion: The results from this study favors staged CEA with CABG with lower incidence of postoperative stroke, operative, and 30 ‐day mortality. A larger study, ideally a randomized controlled trial, is required to address the superiority of each technique.

Robotically assisted coronary artery bypass graft surgery versus drug ‐eluting stents for patients with stable isolated proximal left anterior descending disease
ConclusionR ‐CABG offers lower r‐TLR rate and better angina relief compared with DES for revascularization in patients with isolated proximal LAD stenosis and there was no difference in mortality, MI, stroke, and MACCE between them.

Long ‐term outcomes of percutaneous versus surgical revascularization in patients with diabetes and left main coronary artery disease: A meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials
ConclusionIn this meta-analysis with more than 1000 patients with diabetes and unprotected LMCAD followed for a minimum of 3 years, the incidence of repeat revascularization was higher among those treated with PCI, whereas the risk of stroke was higher in patients treated with CABG.

Coronary revascularization during treatment of severe aortic stenosis: A meta ‐analysis of the complete percutaneous approach (PCI plus TAVR) versus the complete surgical approach (CABG plus SAVR)
ConclusionsWhen comparing the total percutaneous and total surgical treatment, no significant difference in short ‐term safety outcomes or early and late mortality was observed. More evidence is needed to guide the clinical decision.

Complete transcatheter versus complete surgical treatment in patients with aortic valve stenosis and concomitant coronary artery disease: Study ‐level meta‐analysis with reconstructed time‐to‐event data
CONCLUSIONPatients who undergo TAVI plus PCI (in comparison with SAVR plus CABG) initially experience lower rates of in-hospital death and AKI; however, they experience significantly lower survival rates and more MACCE at 5-year follow up. Structural heart surgeons and interventional cardiologists should consider these aspects when referring patients for one approach or the other.

Multicenter experience with valve ‐in‐valve transcatheter aortic valve replacement compared with primary, native valve transcatheter aortic valve replacement
ConclusionCompared to native TAVR, ViV TAVR has similar peri-procedural morbidity with relatively high postprocedure mean gradients. A multidisciplinary approach will help ensure patients receive the ideal therapy in the setting of structural bioprosthetic valve degeneration.

Mid ‐term outcomes of simultaneous coronary artery bypass graft surgery and septal myectomy in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy: A case‐controlled study
ConclusionsThe cardiovascular death and cardiovascular events are significantly increased in patients with HOCM and CAD who underwent CABG at the time of septal myectomy.

On ‐pump beating‐heart coronary artery bypass grafting in high‐risk patients: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
ConclusionOPBHC is an effective technique to perform surgical revascularization in high ‐risk patients as preventing haemodynamic deterioration and guaranteeing adequate end‐organ perfusion. OPBHC represents an alternative technique to on‐pump and off‐pump CABG, in those cases in which complications deriving from cardioplegic arrest or manipulation of the heart are more likely. For these reasons, OPBHC might be useful in patients with recent myocardial infarction or with left ventricular dysfunction.

Sex ‐related differences in outcomes after coronary artery bypass surgery—A patient‐level pooled analysis of randomized controlled trials: rationale and study protocol
AbstractIntroductionThe impact of sex on the outcomes after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is controversial. The majority of CABG studies are retrospectively collected clinical or registry data, women comprise only a minority, and the reported findings represent the male predominated cohort. This individual patient meta ‐analysis is aimed at evaluating sex‐related differences in outcomes after CABG using high quality data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs).Methods and AnalysisA systematic literature search will be performed to identify all CABG RCTs (minimum follow ‐up: 5 years). Detailed specification ...

Elevated postoperative serum uric acid is associated with major adverse events following coronary artery bypass grafting
ConclusionsElevated postoperative SUA level is associated with poor clinical outcomes after CABG. Patients with high postoperative SUA levels after CABG might require to be closely monitored.
