Association Between Achieved Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Levels and Long-Term Cardiovascular and Safety Outcomes: An Analysis of FOURIER-OLE
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, long-term achievement of lower LDL-C levels, down to <20 mg/dL (<0.5 mmol/L), was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular outcomes with no significant safety concerns.REGISTRATION: URL: https://www.CLINICALTRIALS: gov; Unique identifier: NCT01764633.PMID:36779348 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.063399

Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Is Predominantly Associated With Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Events in Patients With Evidence of Coronary Atherosclerosis: The Western Denmark Heart Registry
CONCLUSIONS: LDL-C appears to be almost exclusively associated with ASCVD events over ≈5 years of follow-up in middle-aged individuals with versus without evidence of coronary atherosclerosis. This information is valuable for individualized risk assessment among middle-aged people with or without coronary atherosclerosis.PMID:36621817 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.061010

Cardiovascular Disease Among Persons Living With HIV: New Insights Into Pathogenesis and Clinical Manifestations in a Global Context
Circulation. 2023 Jan 3;147(1):83-100. doi: 10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.057443. Epub 2022 Dec 28.ABSTRACTWidespread use of contemporary antiretroviral therapy globally has transformed HIV disease into a chronic illness associated with excess risk for disorders of the heart and circulatory system. Current clinical care and research has focused on improving HIV-related cardiovascular disease outcomes, survival, and quality of life. In high-income countries, emphasis on prevention of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease over the past decade, including aggressive management of traditional risk factors and earlier initiation ...

Sex Differences in Characteristics, Outcomes and Treatment Response with Dapagliflozin across the Range of Ejection Fraction in Patients with Heart Failure: Insights from DAPA-HF and DELIVER
CONCLUSIONS: In DAPA-HF and DELIVER, the response to dapagliflozin was similar between men and women. Sex did not modify the treatment effect of dapagliflozin across the range of ejection fraction.PMID:36342789 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.062832

Aspirin vs. Clopidogrel for Chronic Maintenance Monotherapy after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: the HOST-EXAM Extended Study
Conclusions: During an extended follow-up of over 5 years after randomization, clopidogrel monotherapy as compared with aspirin monotherapy was associated with lower rates of the composite net clinical outcome in patients without clinical events for 12±6 months after PCI with DES.PMID:36342475 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.062770
