Predictors of Mortality for Patients with ST-Elevation Myocardial Infraction after 2-Year Follow-Up: A ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction Cohort in Isfahan Study
CONCLUSION: The set of factors can increase or decrease mortality in these patients. Significant predictors of mortality STEMI patients by 2-year follow up were age, HR, EF, LDL-C, and preangia. It seems that more articles need to be done in different parts of Iran to confirm the results.PMID:36798920 | PMC:PMC9926029 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_242_21

Association of endometriosis with cardiovascular disease: Genetic aspects (Review)
Int J Mol Med. 2023 Mar;51(3):29. doi: 10.3892/ijmm.2023.5232. Epub 2023 Feb 17.ABSTRACTCardiovascular disease (CVD) comprises a broad spectrum of pathological conditions that affect the heart or blood vessels, including sequelae that arise from damaged vasculature in other organs of the body, such as the brain, kidneys or eyes. Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the arterial intima and is the primary cause of coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart attack, stroke and renal pathology. It represents a leading cause of mortality worldwide and the loss of human productivity that is marked...

Pathways linking aging and atheroprotection in Mif-deficient atherosclerotic mice
FASEB J. 2023 Mar;37(3):e22752. doi: 10.1096/fj.202200056R.ABSTRACTAtherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory condition of our arteries and the main underlying pathology of myocardial infarction and stroke. The pathogenesis is age-dependent, but the links between disease progression, age, and atherogenic cytokines and chemokines are incompletely understood. Here, we studied the chemokine-like inflammatory cytokine macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) in atherogenic Apoe-/- mice across different stages of aging and cholesterol-rich high-fat diet (HFD). MIF promotes atherosclerosis by mediating leukocyte recruitment, ...

Association Between Achieved Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Levels and Long-Term Cardiovascular and Safety Outcomes: An Analysis of FOURIER-OLE
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, long-term achievement of lower LDL-C levels, down to <20 mg/dL (<0.5 mmol/L), was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular outcomes with no significant safety concerns.REGISTRATION: URL: https://www.CLINICALTRIALS: gov; Unique identifier: NCT01764633.PMID:36779348 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.063399

Inactivated whole-virion SARS-CoV-2 vaccines and long-term clinical outcomes in patients with coronary atherosclerosis disease in China: a prospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Our results indicated no evidence of an increased ischemic or bleeding risk after vaccination with inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine among Chinese patients with CAD, with limited statistical power.PMID:36756815 | DOI:10.1093/cvr/cvad031

Optimal use of antithrombotic agents in ischemic stroke with atrial fibrillation and large artery atherosclerosis
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that OAC monotherapy was associated with lower risks of composite outcome and death in patients at 1-year after ischemic stroke due to AF and atherosclerotic stenosis. In addition, the combination of an antiplatelet agent and OAC had a high risk of major bleeding.PMID:36748980 | DOI:10.1177/17474930231158211

Methods of arterial stiffness calculation and cardiovascular disease events: the multiethnic study of atherosclerosis
CONCLUSION: Different methods of calculating local arterial stiffness largely gave equivalent results, indicating that the variety of different arterial stiffness calculations in use do not cause inconsistent findings.PMID:36728257 | DOI:10.1097/HJH.0000000000003365

Association between Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Level and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Korean Adults: A Nationwide Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: We confirmed the incidence of CVD was increased in higher LDL-C range. The risk of CVD increased from ≥70 mg/dL of LDL-C in very high-risk and high-risk groups, and from ≥130 mg/dL of LDL-C in moderate-risk and low-risk groups in Korean adults.PMID:36727164 | DOI:10.4093/dmj.2021.0320

Cardiovascular Outcomes according to Comorbidities and Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol in Korean People with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
CONCLUSION: For primary prevention of CVD in Korean adults with T2DM, it can be helpful to lower LDL-C targets when there are chronic kidney disease, HT, a long duration of diabetes mellitus, or three or more CV risk factors.PMID:36727163 | DOI:10.4093/dmj.2021.0344
