Baseline characteristics, management practices, and long-term outcomes among patients with first presentation acute myocardial infarction in the Second Gulf Registry of Acute Coronary Events (Gulf RACE-2)
Conclusions First presentation AMI patients tend to be older and to have lower rates of risk factors. Adverse clinical outcomes such as congestive heart failure, reinfarction, cardiogenic shock and stroke were higher among patients with first presentation AMI compared to patients with previous history of ACS.

Value of three-dimensional echocardiography study of left ventricle function correlated to coronary arterial dominance in predicting the outcome of primary percutaneous coronary intervention
Conclusion In patients with STEMI treated with primary PCI, left coronary artery dominance confers a higher risk of various adverse clinical events after primary PCI, during hospital stay, and at 3 months follow-up compared to right and balanced coronary artery dominance.

Association between the mode of transport and in-hospital medical complications in trauma patients: findings from a level-I trauma center in Saudi Arabia
CONCLUSION:Multiple factors may influence this unexpected finding, such as distance to health care set.tings, the belief that PT is faster or lack of knowledge of the EMS contact number. Further efforts are needed to raise awareness of the importance of using EMS to transport trauma patients to hospitals. Myocardial function in Saudi adolescents with vitamin D deficiency: Tissue Doppler imaging study
This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of 25(OH)D deficiency on the myocardial function and other echocardiographic variables in adolescent, using tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) and to correlate these parameters with 25(OH)D level. The study included 84 healthy adolescents, consecutively selected from adolescents attending the outpatient clinic of Saad Specialist Hospital, KSA between September 2013 and October 2014. The study population was classified into two groups; vitamin D deficient group with 25(OH)D level less than 20ng/mL and normal vitamin D (control group) with 25(OH)D equal or more than 30ng/mL. Both gro...
