LATE-BREAKING ABSTRACT: Study to understand mortality and morbidIty in COPD (SUMMIT)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is recognized as having significant systemic manifestations associated with increased mortality and morbidity (Agusti, Proc Am Thorac Soc 2005;2:367-70), in particular cardiovascular (CV) disease.
