Final Results from a Phase I Trial Combining Selinexor with High-Dose Cytarabine (HiDAC) and Mitoxantrone (Mito) for Remission Induction in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
Conclusions: The selinexor/HiDAC/Mito regimen is feasible and tolerable at selinexor doses up to 80mg/day or ~50 mg/m2/day twice weekly. This regimen yields an ORR of 64% based on currently available data. We had previously reported molecular correlatives demonstrating the effect of selinexor. The Epidemiology and Clinical Associations of Stroke in Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia: A review of 10,972 admissions from the 2012 National Inpatient Sample
Conclusions Patients with AML have an elevated risk of CVA compared to all inpatients and mortality in this population is high. Transfusion strategy in hematological intensive care unit: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
Background: Packed red blood cell (PRBC) transfusion is required in hematology patients treated with chemotherapy for acute leukemia, autologous (auto) or allogeneic (allo) hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Methotrexate Encephalopathy as a Cause of Alternating Hemiplegia (P3.143)
CONCLUSIONS: Transient neurologic dysfunction with reversible MRI abnormality is a recognized consequence of intrathecal methotrexate chemotherapy in childhood ALL. Patients present with dramatic fluctuating neurologic symptoms with associated MRI changes and may be mistaken for stroke or a seizure disorder.
