Abstract PD4-07: Are aromatase inhibitors associated with higher myocardial infarction risk in breast cancer patients? A Medicare population study
Conclusions: The occurrence of MI is very low in this cohort (4.4%), reassuring the clinicians that the older adults with comorbidities may not be at a higher risk of MI with adjuvant endocrine therapy. Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases Among Older Breast Cancer Survivors in the United States: A Matched Cohort Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Women with a history of breast cancer were at increased risk of several CVDs, persisting into survivorship. Monitoring and managing cardiovascular risk throughout the long-term follow-up of women diagnosed with breast cancer should be a priority. PMID: 33401236 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
