Cisplatin is a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic drug frequently used to treat many solid tumors, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). EGF receptor (EGFR) inhibitors have also shown efficacy as alternatives to cisplatin in some situations.
