Bioinformatics analysis of CUL2/4A/9 and its function in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
CONCLUSION: These results suggest that the transcriptional levels of CUL2/4A/9 were upregulated and these genes could affect proliferation and migration of HNSCC cells. Therefore, CUL2/4A/9 could potentially function as novel independent biomarkers in HNSCC patients.PMID:37695034 | DOI:10.5603/EP.a2023.0029

Previous, simultaneous, or subsequent occurrence of malignant tumours in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism: a closer look at the single-tertiary-centre cases
CONCLUSION: The results of this study revealed that pHPT was associated with various tumour types. The frequency of malignant tumours was 21.2%. Breast and thyroid cancers were the most common 2 cancers coexisting with pHPT. A large percentage of malignant tumours occurred before the diagnosis of pHPT. A higher percentage of simultaneous tumours was seen in the thyroid gland. pHPT patients with and without malignant tumours seemed to have similar characteristics.PMID:37577997 | DOI:10.5603/EP.a2023.0055

The value of 18FFDG PET/CT in avoiding overtreatment of 131l avidity pulmonary metastasis of differentiated thyroid cancer
CONCLUSIONS: We concluded that higher [18F]FDG uptake and larger tumour size predict poor therapeutic effects and a high risk of disease progression in ¹³¹I-avid PMs of DTC. For evaluating the efficiency of ¹³¹I treatment, per-lesion analyses and assessing the data of [¹⁸F] FDG PET/CT would be more reliable than per-patient evaluation only. And early focal treatment modalities may improve their life span.PMID:37577994 | DOI:10.5603/EP.a2023.0048
