De Novo Crescentic Glomerulonephritis Following COVID-19 Infection: A Pediatric Case Report
This report highlights the case of an 11-year-old boy who developed acute kidney injury presenting as gross hematuria, proteinuria, and hypertension immediately after a COVID-19 infection. A renal biopsy allowed us to diagnose the patient with post-COVID-19 infection-associated de novo crescentic immune-mediated glomerulonephritis. Oral prednisolone and cyclophosphamide treatments were initiated after methylprednisolone pulse therapy administration. Currently, the patient is receiving medical treatment for five weeks, and his renal function is gradually recovering. Previous studies have suggested that, although quite rare,...

Two Case Reports of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy After COVID-19 Vaccination
We describe two patients who were diagnosed with CIDP after COVID-19 vaccination. A 72-year-old man presented with a progressive tingling sensation and weakness below both knees for two weeks. He had been vaccinated against COVID-19 (mRNA-1273 vaccine) a month before the appearance of symptoms. Demyelinating polyneuropathy was observed in the nerve conduction studies (NCS). Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) was administered under the diagnosis of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), and his symptoms were improved. However, his symptoms relapsed at 10 weeks from the onset. Oral prednisolone, azathioprine, and IVIg were administe...

Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in an Adult Following COVID-19 mRNA Vaccination: Successful Treatment With Medium-Dose Steroids and Colchicine
J Korean Med Sci. 2022 Oct 24;37(41):e299. doi: 10.3346/jkms.2022.37.e299.ABSTRACTMultisystem inflammatory syndrome in children and adults (MIS-C/A) was rarely reported as a complication of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and potential adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination. Recently, the case definition of MIS-C/A was developed by the Brighton Collaboration Network. However, only a limited number of adult patients with MIS-A following immunization have been reported, and there is still little evidence for adequate treatment. A 57-year-old man presented with fever, headache, vomiting, and hypotension 24 days aft...
