Full Mouth Dental Restoration on a Treacher-Collins Patient Without Intubation
AANA J. 2023 Feb;91(1):55-60.ABSTRACTPatients with Treacher Collins syndrome have a known difficult airway particularly if intubation is required. In most institutions that perform full mouth dental restoration (FMDR) procedures the patient is nasally intubated to protect the airway from debris and irrigation fluid. For patients with Treacher Collins syndrome the actual intubation and securing the airway can be more difficult and traumatic than the actual dental restoration itself. However, there is an airway technique using nasopharyngeal airways combined with a dental technique called "dry prepping" that can provide thos...

Correlation between the three-dimensional maxillomandibular complex parameters and pharyngeal airway dimensions in different sagittal and vertical malocclusions
CONCLUSIONS: The pharyngeal airway dimensions differ with various sagittal and vertical malocclusions. These differences could apply to diagnosis, treatment planning, and possible changes following orthodontic/orthopedic or surgical treatment.PMID:36695712 | DOI:10.1259/dmfr.20220346 (Source: Dentomaxillofacial Radiology)
