Comparative, Controlled, Retrospective Study of Patient-Reported Outcomes After Meniscectomy With Adjunctive Use of Platelet-Rich Plasma or Amniotic Umbilical Cord Tissue
Conclusion: In our study population, arthroscopic meniscectomy with adjunctive use of AMUC tissue improved patient-reported outcomes and reduced the reoperation rate compared to conventional technique or adjunctive use of PRP.PMID:38510228 | PMC:PMC10949044 | DOI:10.31486/toj.23.0073 (Source: Ochsner Journal)

Outcomes of Reduction Mammaplasty in Adolescents vs Average-Age Patients: A 3-Year Single-Center Retrospective Analysis
Conclusion: Complications related to wound healing are common in reduction mammaplasty, although rates of life-threatening complications are rare. In this 3-year review comparing the outcomes of adolescent vs average-age patients who underwent reduction mammaplasty at the same institution, no significant differences in postoperative complication rates were found. Our data suggest that adolescent patients with macromastia should not defer reduction mammaplasty out of concern for higher complication rates because of age alone.PMID:38510229 | PMC:PMC10949056 | DOI:10.31486/toj.23.0079 (Source: Ochsner Journal)

Case Illustration of the Natural History of Left Dominant Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy
Conclusion: Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy manifests as a spectrum of disease processes that involve the right, left, or both ventricles. Mutations in the desmoplakin gene are often associated with a left dominant ventricular cardiomyopathy. Diagnosis remains difficult as the condition has no signature clinical presentation, and imaging findings are variable.PMID:38510230 | PMC:PMC10949047 | DOI:10.31486/toj.23.0057 (Source: Ochsner Journal)

Evidence for Combining Conservative Treatments for Adhesive Capsulitis
Conclusion: Adhesive capsulitis remains a challenge to treat clinically with much still unknown regarding treatment optimization. For the foreseeable future, first-line conservative management will continue to be the mainstay of managing adhesive capsulitis. Thus, knowing how to best use and optimize these various options-both individually and in combination-is vital for effective treatment.PMID:38510216 | PMC:PMC10949050 | DOI:10.31486/toj.23.0128 (Source: Ochsner Journal)
