Network pharmacological evaluation for identifying novel drug-like molecules from ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) against multiple disease targets, a computational biotechnology approach
In this study, we identified 12 phytochemicals from the ginger rhizome extract (hexane) through GC/MS analysis. After evaluating drug-likeliness, these phytochemicals were docked with 16 target proteins in silico, and docking scores were compared with their respective control drugs. Furthermore, multivariate statistical analysis (principal component analysis-PCA) was performed, and three different chemical clusters were identified. Pharmacophore analysis further identified common functional descriptors in the compounds under study. Finally, we developed a unique three-level network taking phytochemicals, target proteins an...

A machine learning regression model for the screening and design of potential SARS-CoV-2 protease inhibitors
AbstractThe widespread infection caused by the 2019 novel corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) has initiated global efforts to search for antiviral agents. Drug discovery is the first step in the development of commercially viable pharmaceutical products to deal with novel diseases. In an effort to accelerate the screening and drug discovery workflow for potential SARS-CoV-2 protease inhibitors, a machine learning model that can predict the binding free energies of compounds to the SARS-CoV-2 main protease is presented. The optimized multiple linear regression model, which was trained and tested on 226 natural compounds demonstrates ...

A theoretical model for an electromagnetic antenna in induction of virtual T cells
AbstractCancer cells make a PD1/PD-L1 bridge with T cells and inject death factors into them. Recently, many methods and drugs have been proposed to prevent PD1/PD-L1 connections; however, most of them are very expensive and could not work well. We propose a theoretical model for an electromagnetic antenna which induces virtual T cells within the blood vessels. These electromagnetic T cells deceive cancer cells and their virtual PD1s are connected to real PD-L1s. Consequently, the number of real PD1/PD-L1 connections decrease and real T cells could have the opportunity to kill the cancer cells. This is a theoretical model....

Implementation of noise and hair removals from dermoscopy images using hybrid Gaussian filter
AbstractSkin cancer is the leading type of cancer which causes millions of deaths of human beings. Early identification and appropriate medications for new harmful skin malignancy cases are fundamental to guarantee a low death rate as the survival rate. To effectively classify skin cancers, it is necessary to remove the noise and hair from dermoscopy images. But the existing methods failed to achieve maximum efficiency, to solve these problems. In our proposed system we implemented a multi-resolution joint Gaussian filter (GF) with a hybrid decision-based window mask generation (HDWMG) approach for denoising of dermoscopy ...

A novel ToCC map and two-level scrambling-based medical image encryption technique
AbstractSince the past few decades, various methods for diagnosis of different diseases have been introduced in the area of medical science. One such invention is the use of digital images to detect different types of diseases. Images obtained from X-rays, CT scans and MRI scans are the most common examples. These images contain a lot of data that need protection from unauthorised access. To avoid this unauthorized access, different types of encryption schemes are used. Chaos mechanism has gained popularity because of its randomness and initial sensitivity properties. In this research paper, a new one-dimensional Tangent o...

Community and topic modeling for infectious disease clinical trial recommendation
In this study, we propose to use network analysis to understand infectious disease clinical trial research. Our goal is to understand two important issues related to the clinical trials: (1) the concentrations and characteristics of infectious disease clinical trial research, and (2) recommendation of clinical trials to a sponsor (or an investigator). The first issue helps summarize clinical trial research related to a particular disease(s), and the second issue helps match clinical trial sponsors and investigators for information recommendation. By using 4228 clinical trials as the test bed, our study investigates 4864 sp...

Intuitionistic fuzzy approach improve protein multiple sequence alignment
In this study, to improve the sensitivity of progressive multiple sequence alignments, a new method for pairwise distance measurement based on the intuitionistic fuzzy proposed. Reference sequences from BALiBASE 4.0 (hand-aligned), PREFAB 4.0 (structurally supervised), and OXBench systems were employed to evaluate system performance. For checking the quality, the test alignments score in terms of SP-, C-, and TC score evaluated by the Friedman ranks test at the statistically significant level. The unweighted paired group with arithmetic mean hierarchical clustering (PIFD-UHC) and neighbor-joining-based hierarchical cluster...
