[Detection and Molecular Characterization of Human Adenoviruses from Acute Conjunctivitis Cases].
In this study, the prevalence of adenoviral conjunctivitis determined by hexon gene PCR in patients with clinical diagnosis of acute conjunctivitis was similar to the prevalence rate reported in other regions of the world. In our region, more than one type of hAdV type was associated with acute conjunctivitis. The predominant type was determined as hAdV-8 with a 63% ratio. [Optimization of real-time multiplex polymerase chain reaction for the diagnosis of acute bacterial meningitis and Neisseria meningitidis serogrouping].

[Investigation of Streptococcus pyogenes virulence factors and typing by multiple locus variable number tandem repeat fingerprinting (MLVF) method].
In conclusion, S.pyogenes isolates collected from throat cultures of patients with symptomatic tonsillo-pharyngitis in Konya/Turkey were susceptible to all antibiotics studied and have carried a very high rate of virulence factors. However the isolates were mostly clonally unrelated and sporadic.
