Structure elucidation of olasubscorpioside C, a new rotameric biflavonoid glycoside from the stem barks of Olax subscorpioidea (Oliv)
Magn Reson Chem. 2023 Aug;61(8):497-503. doi: 10.1002/mrc.5375. Epub 2023 Jun 21.ABSTRACTFrom the n-butanol soluble fraction of the ethanol extract of the medicinal plant Olax subscorpioidea, a previously unreported rotameric biflavonoid glycoside constituted of 4'-O-methylgallocatechin-(4α → 8)-4'-O-methylgallocatechin as aglycone named olasubscorpioside C (1) along with the known 4'-O-methylgallocatechin (2) were isolated. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectrometric and spectroscopic techniques including HRFABMS, 1 H and 13 C NMR, DEPT 135o , HSQC, HMBC, ROESY, and CD followed by comparison with the...

CAT on MOUSE: Control and automation of temperature for single-sided NMR instruments such as NMR-MOUSE
We present the capabilities of the device using a freezing temperature study of acetic acid/water mixtures. Additionally, we present the stability of the device over long measurement times. We believe that by introducing such a device with an open-source design, we allow researchers to use it in a wide range of applications and to fully incorporate variable-temperature studies in the world of single-sided instruments.PMID:37344254 | DOI:10.1002/mrc.5376 (Source: Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry : MRC)

Structural applications of the isotropic liquid-phase deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance
Magn Reson Chem. 2023 Aug;61(8):451-472. doi: 10.1002/mrc.5374. Epub 2023 Jun 21.ABSTRACTPresent review is focused on recent experimental and computational advances of the liquid-phase deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Nowadays, isotropic liquid-phase 2 H NMR became one of the most important instruments for the identification and certification of organic compounds of biological interest together with natural products and biosynthetic molecules. Of special interest are the 2 H NMR biochemical and microbiological applications. This review consists of three main parts. The first part deals with the practical applica...
