The mechanism of moire artifacts in single-grating imaging systems and image quality optimization
J Xray Sci Technol. 2024 Jan 5. doi: 10.3233/XST-230202. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn the X-ray single-grating imaging system, the acquisition of frequency information is the key step of phase-contrast and scattering information recovery. In the process of information extraction, it is easy to lead to the degradation of imaging quality due to the Moire Artifact, thus limiting the development and application of X-ray single-grating imaging system. In order to address the above problems, in this article, based on the theoretical analysis of the generation principle of Moire Artifact in imaging system, the advantages and ...

Nomograms combining computed tomography-based body composition changes with clinical prognostic factors to predict survival in locally advanced cervical cancer patients
CONCLUSION: CT-based body composition changes and CPF (SCC-Ag, LNM) were associated with survival in patients with LACC. The prognostic nomograms combined BCC with CPF were able to predict the OS and PFS in patients with LACC reliably.PMID:38189735 | DOI:10.3233/XST-230212 (Source: Journal of X-Ray Science and Technology)

A fast response time gas ionization chamber detector with a grid structure
In this study, the detector electrostatic field was calculated using COMSOL, while Garfield++ was utilized to simulate the detector's output signal. To validate the accuracy of simulation results, the experimental ionization chamber was tested on the experimental platform. The results revealed that the average electric field intensity in the induced region of the grid detector was increased by at least 33% . The detector response time was reduced to 27% -38% of that of the parallel plate detector, while the sensitivity of the detector was only reduced by 10% . Therefore, incorporating a grid structure within the parallel p...

Decomposition iteration strategy for low-dose CT denoising
J Xray Sci Technol. 2024 Jan 5. doi: 10.3233/XST-230272. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn the medical field, computed tomography (CT) is a commonly used examination method, but the radiation generated increases the risk of illness in patients. Therefore, low-dose scanning schemes have attracted attention, in which noise reduction is essential. We propose a purposeful and interpretable decomposition iterative network (DISN) for low-dose CT denoising. This method aims to make the network design interpretable and improve the fidelity of details, rather than blindly designing or using deep CNN architecture. The experiment is t...

Research on breast cancer pathological image classification method based on wavelet transform and YOLOv8
J Xray Sci Technol. 2024 Jan 5. doi: 10.3233/XST-230296. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACT Breast cancer is one of the cancers with high morbidity and mortality in the world, which is a serious threat to the health of women. With the development of deep learning, the recognition about computer-aided diagnosis technology is getting higher and higher. And the traditional data feature extraction technology has been gradually replaced by the feature extraction technology based on convolutional neural network which helps to realize the automatic recognition and classification of pathological images. In this paper, a novel method b...

A deep learning and radiomics based Alberta stroke program early CT score method on CTA to evaluate acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates advantages of using a deep learning network to replace the traditional template registration for brain region segmentation, which can determine the shape and location of each brain region more precisely. In addition, a new brain region classifier based on radiomics features has potential to assist physicians in clinical stroke detection and improve the consistency of ASPECTS.PMID:37980594 | DOI:10.3233/XST-230119 (Source: Journal of X-Ray Science and Technology)
