Poststroke Fatigue Is Related to Motor and Cognitive Performance: A Secondary Analysis
Conclusions: Functional gait, balance, and cognitive performance are associated with PSF. Fatigue should be considered when planning and delivering interventions for individuals with stroke. Future studies are needed to explore the potential efficacy of balance and cognitive training in PSF management. Interindividual Balance Adaptations in Response to Perturbation Treadmill Training in Persons With Parkinson Disease
Conclusions: Our findings suggest that PTT is beneficial to improve reactive balance in PwPD. Further, PTT appeared to be effective only for a part of PwPD, especially for those with lower balance and cognitive function, which needs further attention. Mental Singing Reduces Gait Variability More Than Music Listening for Healthy Older Adults and People With Parkinson Disease
Conclusions: Matching movement to one's own voice improves gait characteristics while reducing gait variability for older adults and people with PD. Optimizing the use of internal cues to facilitate movement is an important step toward more effectively meeting the needs of people with gait disorders related to aging or neurological disease. Belief, Confidence, and Motivation to Use the Paretic Upper Limb in Daily Life Over the First 24 Weeks After Stroke
Conclusions: High levels of belief, confidence, and motivation appear consistent over the first 6 months after stroke. The lack of correlations between psychosocial factors and clinical measures suggests belief, confidence, and motivation may not be vulnerable to functional status early after stroke. Central Conditions Mimicking Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo: A Case Series
Discussion: The presence of central positioning nystagmus may be the sole presenting feature of serious neurological conditions such as posterior fossa tumor. It is recommended that a diagnosis of BPPV can only be made if Dix-Hallpike or supine roll maneuver elicits nystagmus that is consistent with BPPV. Any features of the nystagmus, which are not consistent with BPPV, should raise suspicion of central pathology, and warrant further investigation. Measuring Community Mobility in Survivors of Stroke Using Global Positioning System Technology: A Prospective Observational Study
Conclusions: Directly measured community mobility in SS was decreased through 9 weeks following discharge from inpatient rehabilitation. The limited strength of bivariate correlations between clinical measures and number of trips supported the uniqueness of the community mobility construct. Peripheral Vestibular and Balance Function in Athletes With and Without Concussion
