Immunohistochemical detection of prolactin in clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas.
CONCLUSIONS: Our data confirm the observations that monohormonal silent prolactinomas are very rare but frequently silent PRL often co-expressed with GH or LH. Although in the whole population of patients with CNFPAs both sexes are equally represented, in the case of silent prolactinomas the female sex is prevalent. Overexpression of Rictor protein and Rictor-H. pylori interaction impact on tumor progression and prognosis in patients with gastric cancer.

Monocytic MDSC as a source of immunosuppressive cytokines in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) microenvironment.

Cholinergic and adrenergic innervation of the pancreas in chinchilla (Chinchilla laniger Molina).

NKT-like cells reveal higher than T lymphocytes expression of cellular protective proteins HSP70 and SOD2 and comparably increased expression of SIRT1 in the oldest seniors.
CONCLUSIONS: The analysis of CD3+ and CD3+CD56+ lymphocytes showed the increase in the number of NKT-like cells and decreased number of T cells in the process of ageing. The increased expression of cellular protective proteins SIRT1, HSP70 and SOD2 in NKT-like and T-lymphocytes of the oldest seniors seems to correspond to longevity and the observed correlations may suggest the involvement of these proteins in establishing cellular homeostasis specific for healthy ageing. Melanization of Bomirski hamster amelanotic melanoma cells (Ab line) depends on the type of culture medium.

Semispecific TPPII inhibitor Ala-Ala-Phe-chloromethylketone (AAF-cmk) displays cytotoxic activity by induction of apoptosis, autophagy and protein aggregation in U937 cells.
CONCLUSIONS: Our results provide novel and important findings about the role of TPPII in protein homeostasis and cell survival. Since semispecific TPPII inhibitor AAF-cmk displays cytotoxic activity against leukemic U937 cells in vitro it can be considered as a potential anticancer agent. Matrix metalloproteinases -2, -7 and tissue metalloproteinase inhibitor -1 expression in human endometrium.
CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study indicate that estradiol influence MMP-2 expression in the endometrium depends on the phase of menstrual cycle. Such relationships were not found for MMP-7 and TIMP-1 and further tests clarifying association between estradiol and MMPs are needed. Immunohistochemical analysis of spinal cord components in mouse model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
CONCLUSIONS: In mouse model of EAE, inflammatory cells predominate in the early phases of the disease. This study shows for the first time that inflammation precedes oligodendrocyte death and neuronal loss and that macrophages/ microglia are the only cells persisting in large numbers in the chronic phase of the disease, probably because of the switch from proinflammatory to anti-inflammatory phenotype. Age-associated functional morphology of thyroid and its impact on vimentin/cytokeratin/VEGF. The role of nigella in refinement.
Conclusions Aging is accompanied by disruption, dilation, and irregularities of the thyroid follicles. These changes are induced by the oxidative stress. In addition, the immunoreaction of the cytoskeletal intermediate filaments (vimentin and cytokeratin) and VEGF were also increased consecutively to the oxidative stress.
