Alternative Cosmetic and Medical Applications of Injectable Deoxycholic Acid: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSION
The review emphasizes the diversity of injectable DCA as a minimally invasive technique for lipolysis. Further high-level studies demonstrating consistent treatment regimens and methods of evaluation are warranted to make more definitive recommendations regarding off-label DCA use. Safety Profile of Thread Lifts on the Face and Neck: An Evidence-Based Systematic Review
CONCLUSION
Most side effects associated with threads were self-resolving, whereas more serious cases subsided with treatment. Future studies are critical to further determine whether thread lifting provides long-lasting, safe, and satisfying results. (Source: Dermatologic Surgery)

Efficacy of Erbium-Doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet 2,940 and 1,064 nm Laser Treatment for Facial Rejuvenation—A Randomized Controlled Split-Face Clinical Trial
BACKGROUND
The 2,940 nm erbium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet and 1,064 nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet lasers have been widely applied in facial rejuvenation, but no randomized trials exist to evaluate the efficacy of the combination treatment.
OBJECTIVE
The efficacy of the combined treatment for facial rejuvenation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
A total of 20 subjects with facial aging were enrolled and randomly assigned into 2 groups: one side of the face was treated with a 2,940 nm or 1,064 nm laser alone and the other side was treated with the combined lasers. The patients were treated by 3 sessi...

Optimizing Parameters for Smoke Evacuation
This study determines optimal parameters of the smoke evacuation system with respect to the surgical field.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
This study was conducted in an outpatient surgical facility at a tertiary care center. After 30 seconds of continuous electrocautery of tissue, particulate measurements were recorded using the TSI DustTrak Aerosol Monitor 8520 (>2.5 μm particles) and the TSI P-Trak Ultrafine Particle Counter 8525 ( (Source: Dermatologic Surgery)

Timing of Adjuvant Radiotherapy After Keloid Excision: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This study investigated the appropriate timing of adjuvant radiotherapy.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials and observational cohort studies was performed. A pooled estimate of the incidence rate was performed using a random-effects model. Subgroup analyses based on different anatomic region, biologically effective dose, keloid length, and radiotherapy regimen were also conducted.
RESULTS
Sixteen observational cohort studies (1,908 keloid lesions) met the inclusion criteria. The incidence rate was significantly lower in the group treated with electron b...

Concordance of Squamous Cell Carcinoma Histologic Grading Among Dermatopathologists and Mohs Surgeons
CONCLUSION
Overall concordance for cSCC histologic grading is weak to moderate among the experimental group. Substantial differences in concordance exist among histological degrees of differentiation, with lowest agreement in moderately differentiated tumors. (Source: Dermatologic Surgery)

Skin Cancer Incidence in Organ Transplant Recipients Referred for Benign Skin Conditions
CONCLUSION
These results indicate that some SOTRs referred to dermatology for benign skin disorders are incidentally diagnosed with cutaneous malignancies; this is concerning given that referrals for benign skin conditions may delay appropriate care for cutaneous malignancies and preventative care. Better risk stratification, improved interdisciplinary collaboration, and prompt referrals for dermatologic care are needed in the care of SOTRs. (Source: Dermatologic Surgery)

Blood Perfusion of Random Skin Flaps in Humans—In Vivo Assessment by Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging
CONCLUSION
Laser speckle contrast imaging allows accurate, rapid, reproducible, and noncontact measurements of skin blood perfusion over RSF, ultimately leading to an optimization of skin flap planning. This study proves that variation of perfusion pressure along the flap is dependent on the LTWR in a linear decreasing function. (Source: Dermatologic Surgery)
