Applications of artificial intelligence in the analysis of dental panoramic radiographs: An overview of systematic reviews
CONCLUSIONS: Currently, AI applications can significantly support dentists in dental panoramic radiograph analysis. As systematic reviews on AI become outdated quickly, their regular updating is recommended. Differentiation between pleomorphic adenoma and schwannoma in the parapharyngeal space: histogram analysis of apparent diffusion coefficient
CONCLUSIONS: Skewness and kurtosis showed significant differences between pleomorphic adenomas and schwannomas occupying the parapharyngeal space, but the mean ADC values did not. Our results suggest that the skewness and kurtosis of ADC histograms may be useful in differentiating these two parapharyngeal tumors.PMID:37665011 | DOI:10.1259/dmfr.20230140 (Source: Dentomaxillofacial Radiology)

Filtered back projection vs. iterative reconstruction for CBCT: Effects on image noise and processing time
CONCLUSIONS: IR significantly reduces CBCT image noise compared to standard FBP without substantially increasing processing time.PMID:37665027 | DOI:10.1259/dmfr.20230109 (Source: Dentomaxillofacial Radiology)

Reproducibility and location-stability of radiomic features derived from Cone-Beam computed tomography: a phantom study
CONCLUSIONS: The density and location of the target object can affect the number of reproducible radiomic features, and its density can also affect the number of location-stable radiomic features. The problem of feature reliability should be treated cautiously in radiomic research on CBCT.PMID:37664997 | DOI:10.1259/dmfr.20230180 (Source: Dentomaxillofacial Radiology)
