Carnitine in Alleviation of Complications Caused by Acute Valproic Acid Toxicity; an Exprimental Study on Mice
CONCLUSIONS: Although the administration of carnitine has been suggested as a protective remedy in cases of VPA toxicity, according to the present study, it did not have an antidotal effect and did not prevent encephalopathy or liver injury in acute VPA toxicity.PMID:38371450 | PMC:PMC10871053 | DOI:10.22037/aaem.v12i1.2146 (Source: Accident and Emergency Nursing)

A qualitative assessment of emergency physicians' experiences with robust emergency department buprenorphine bridge programs
CONCLUSIONS: Participants in this study reported several common themes related to participation in their hospital's BP. Overall our results suggest that physicians who participate in EDBPs may feel a renewed sense of fulfillment and purpose in their personal and professional lives. These positive changes may lead to increased job satisfaction in hospitals that have successfully launched EDBP.PMID:38357749 | DOI:10.1111/acem.14880 (Source: Accident and Emergency Nursing)

Rapid Arterial Occlusion Evaluation (RACE) Tool in Detecting Large Cerebral Vessel Occlusions; a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: A high level of evidence indicates that the RACE scale lacks promising diagnostic value for detection of LVOs. A sensitivity range of 0.69 to 0.86 is insufficient for a screening tool intended to aid in the diagnosis of strokes, considering the substantial morbidity and mortality associated with this condition.PMID:38162382 | PMC:PMC10757574 | DOI:10.22037/aaem.v12i1.2152 (Source: Accident and Emergency Nursing)
