poem

Moral of the StoryI ’m in the phase of life when the moral kicks inMost of the relevant characters have already been introducedAnd a general adversarial tone has been establishedIf there was a turning point I missed itAll that ’s left now is anti-climaxAnd a long scudding denouementNow it ’s just lesson after lessonSmacking me upside the headAll the hard truths bursting forth like crocusesEager to be looked at and watered  All that build-up and exposition for this?I ’m the hare getting whipped by a tortoiseThe unreachable, uneaten grape just before it spoils2/12/22
