Effects of Simulation-based Scrub Nurse Education for Novice Nurses in the Operating Room: A Longitudinal Study

Modern surgery requires the co-operation of healthcare professionals with different skills to effectively treat patients. In addition to technical expertise, surgical teams use a variety of non –technical skills. These cognitive skills complement technical skills to achieve safe and efficient practices. Non–technical skills differ from psychomotor skills in that they involve interactions between team members (communication, teamwork, leadership, etc.) and cognitive processes (e.g., the ability to read and understand situations and make decisions).
