Trends in Incisional Hernia Repair and Abdominal Surgery: A Nationwide Analysis of Hospitalization and Hospital Cost

Incisional hernia is a frequent long-term complication following abdominal surgery (AS) that represents a healthcare burden. We sought to describe trends in the national inpatient burden of incisional hernia repair (IHR) relative to all abdominal surgery (AS) by surgical approach.
