Review found all outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) models (outpatient, nurse home visits, elastometric devices) were less costly than inpatient drug delivery. OPAT costs as a proportion of inpatient costs varied between 0.13 to 0.56 depending on the infection.
