27. Achievement of minimum clinically important differences in patient reported outcomes does not imply outright improvements in objective functional outcome measures for surgical treatment of adult spinal deformities

Patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) are commonly used to indicate functional status however, there is a lack of published literature on their relation to objective functional outcome measures (FOMs) among adult spinal deformity (ASD) patients. The minimum clinically important difference (MCID) is often used among spine PROMs as the standard benchmark by which outcome success is gauged however there is no data currently available describing the relation of PROM MCIDs to concurrent changes in FOMs for ASD surgery patients.
