Drug overdose deaths increased nearly 30% during 2020 reaching record-high 93,000, CDC reveals

Provisional CDC data show there were 93,331 drug overdose deaths recorded in the U.S. in 2020, a 29.4% jump from the 72,151 overdose fatalities reported in 2019.
