Multi-site evaluation of Advanced Practice Hand Therapy Clinics for the management of patients with trigger digit.

Trigger digit (TD), often referred to as stenosing tenosynovitis, occurs due to an imbalance between the flexor tendon and the A1 pulley through which it glides during finger movement.1 TD has a lifetime prevalence of 2-3% in the general population and 10% in the diabetic population2 and is seen most often in females and in those aged 50-60 years.3 Patients present with painful clicking or locking of one or more digits, difficulty grasping and manipulating objects, which may result in substantial functional disability.
