Infant En Bloc Lung Transplantation

Since the first pediatric lung transplant performed at the University of Toronto in 1987,1 significant progress has been made in the field, including refinements in surgical technique, advancements in immunosuppressive regimens, public policy and organ allocation strategies, donor selection and management, and the development of multidisciplinary and collaborative surgical and medical teams to provide optimized long-term care. Consequently, the success and survival outcomes with pediatric lung transplantation have continued to improve over the years.
