Temple spinoff Express Cells secures first patent for gene-editing technology

A three-year-old Philadelphia genetic engineering company spun out of Temple University has secured its first patent for its core gene-editing technology. ExpressCells was awarded the U.S. patent for its "Fast-HDR" gene editing technology, developed to create advanced cell lines for drug discovery.
