Structural Insights into the Roles of Metazoan-Specific Splicing Factors in the Human Step 1 Spliceosome

Bertram et  al. generate a cryo-EM structure of the human spliceosomal C complex at 3.4 Å core resolution. This structure provides new insights into the spliceosome’s molecular architecture between steps 1 and 2 of splicing, and the role of proteins in the formation of spliceosome’s catalytically active RNP conformation.
