Diagnostic Reasoning and Diagnostic Errors

I have always enjoyed the diagnostic reasoning process, and I feel I learned from a master. My first collaborating physician was a pediatrician who taught me how to overcome being “stuck” if the signs and symptoms in a patient’s presentation did not align with my protocol book. He taught me that the patient would lead me to the answer(s), but it was my job to keep asking questions until they did.
