Nursing Informatics Specialist: Role in the Perianesthesia Environment
One of the many positive aspects of the nursing profession is the wide range of career options to be explored. Nurses can be found in just about every role from publishing to politics and family practice to pharmaceutical sales. They often bridge their clinical expertise and status as trusted professionals to settings beyond traditional health care agencies. The nursing informatics specialty presents a similarly dynamic and fascinating role for nurses. Nursing informatics has been a recognized specialty for almost 30 years, but has only recently been receiving wider recognition for the value they can bring to the profession and organizations in which they are employed.
