Global surgery in the time of COVID-19: A trainee perspective

We read with great interest a number of recent articles by L Ferrario et al.,1 AN Martin& RT Petroze,2 C Shao3 and Chen et al.4; we would like to thank the authors for sharing their perspectives. We echo the authors ’ concern that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to surgical training at all levels and support their desire to identify opportunities for trainees interested in surgery. Eager to continue the conversation, we provide suggestions for continuing education for trainees int erested in global surgery (GS) during this pandemic (see Table 1).
