Therapy doesn't work how we think it works

Let me preface this by saying I am 100% about empiricism. I was trained hardcore in evidence-based practices, the importance of research informed therapy, and to be a good consumer/critic of research. I currently use CBT, ACT, and exposure and response prevention as my main modalities. So...don't get too angry. I want you all to think about something though.
