Double Sutural Cataract

The authors declare no conflicts of interest. A 13-year -boy presented for a routine eye examination. His best corrected visual acuity was 20/20 OU. Right eye examination revealed a clear cornea with star shaped lenticular opacity along with multiple opacities in the cortex (Figure A). The left eye had a similar but denser star-shaped opacity in the center (Figure, B). Bilateral sutural cataracts, following upright anterior and inverted posterior sutures with knobs were diagnosed. Sutural cataracts are generally non-progressive congenital lens opacities that occur at the location of closure of the fetal optic nucleus.
